Laser Blast! 4: The Lunasol Encounter (Jam Game)
Note: The in-game instructions say to use the 'Z' key for both shooting your gun and dashing. This is incorrect. 'Z' is for dashing, and 'X' is for shooting.

Description: This sci-fi themed platformer is the fourth in the Laser Blast! jam series. Play as the advanced robot Atom Girl and progress through a platforming level, defeating enemy forces along the way. Destroy the end boss to complete Atom Girl's mission and help save her planet from evil invading forces.
Controls:
Left and right keys - Move left and right, respectively
Up key - Jump or perform a midair hover. If you hold jump after jumping, hovering will be performed at about the apex of the first jump
'Z' key - Dash along the ground. If you are dashing when you jump, you'll travel farther. Also progresses through the menu screens.
'X' key - Shoot a small energy ball. Holding the key down will charge Atom Girl's weapon. Release to shoot a level 2 or 3 shot, based on charge time.
Tips:
- You have some temporary invincibility after taking a hit. Use it to your advantage!
- Enemy collisions deal more damage than enemy projectiles.
- A level 1 charge shot hurts enemies for 1 damage, while level 2 is 2 damage and level 3 is 3 damage.
- If a level 3 shot kills an enemy, it will pierce the enemy and keep going. Level 1 and 2 shots never pierce.
- The boss at the end of the level speeds its attacks up substantially after losing half its life. Be careful! It will tend to roll more dangerous attacks once its health is low.
- Enemies killed have a 33% chance to drop a heart that heals for 2 pips of health.
- Most enemies cannot turn around.
- There is a checkpoint once you get to the boss.

Neat!
The enemy blasts being the same color as my own made it a little hard to tell when they were shooting at me though (because I was already shooting them).
Thanks! You know what, I had that exact thought, and then I uh... didn't get around to changing it for some reason 🤷. I kinda dropped the ball there, but I plan to fix a couple things post GMTK jam voting, and that is one of them.

Nice! The I had to play it twice in order to kill that boss! Great job!

Super cool game! I loved the final boss music!
